A Passion to Teach - A Passion to Learn
Many artists, even ones with some experience, get stuck or lack some critical skills that could take their work to new levels. I help artists get unstuck, teach key skills and encourage students to explore, to reach beyond what they think is possible with their art and help them discover their own unique style. I teach primarily realism (see it here) and whimsical but the skills I teach are applicable to any style and subject matter.
"Cindy's patience, knowledge and willingness to help when I was struggling with new thought and practices is far beyond words. I highly recommend her as a teacher." W.B.
Critiques and Mentorship - Via Zoom
You're not a tube sock, one size does not fit all.
Sometimes we get to the stage where we really just need advice on where our art is going. If you're seeking to elevate your work, or are stuck on the evolution of your style, or need to learn how to self assess your art, talk to me. Maybe you need a bit of help in deciding if you're ready to market your art, I can help you decide the method that is best suited to YOU.
I share everything I've learned over 30 years to help artists strengthen their skills while developing their own unique style.
One hour session is 75.00. We'll do some preliminary work first, email me to find out.
"Her gift at teaching gave me the both the skills and most importantly the confidence to grow as an artist. Cindy meets you where you’re at in your art journey and makes a concerted effort to provide feedback and exercises specific to your unique journey as an artist. Her work is vibrant, complex yet playful and whimsical. Her teaching style represents all of that and more!” B.
"I chose Cindy because of her past range of experience from illustration, to realism, to her whimsical style of today. I was stuck in my own work and didn’t know what direction to take to move forward. Cindy’s experience and vast knowledge has helped me get unstuck. Despite reading many books on theories such as composition, massing, values, and colour, applying them to my everyday work was sometimes a mystery. Through fun painting exercises and guidance, Cindy is helping me get a deeper understanding of these principals and how to apply them in my own work. Her mentorship is able to turn questions from beginners into valuable lessons for more experienced painters, and vice versa." R.
